HELP!!!!!!! Scalp Zit Breakout
« on: March 08, 2012, 05:50:58 PM »
I need help in the worst way!!!!!!!!!Been vaping for 3 years.  About 4 months ago I noticed zits on my scalp and a few in my beard.  Thought I might have developed a PG allergy of some sort.  Started using 100% VG--VG PI, all VG flavor, and VG diluent--all VG for the past 4 months.  Still had the zit problem.  Decreased my nicotine strength from 26 mg. to 18 mg.-- now have the worst zit breakout ever!!  Wash hair every other day,  same shampoo, diet hasn't changed, medications haven't changed.  I can't figure it out--I'm 75 years old, a little too old for puberty again.

Has anyone had this problem??  Has anyone even heard of this problem??  Please help if you can advise what can be done to eliminate ZITS!!!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I wish I could help, but never heard of that.   Because you've been vaping for 3 years now and then tried all VG, maybe you should go to your doctor as he/she might be able to help!

I certainly wish you luck!

+1 with what lettie22 says

Maybe good to go see your doc and get it checked out.
After 3 years vaping using PG/VG etc it may be some thing totally different. You say you have not changed diet/shampoo/meds etc and as you say can you go through puberty twice  ??? don,t think so.(damn well hope not)

My opinion go see your doc we always put these things off like going to the dentist / doctor but its better to get checked out.

Its not a problem for a Doctor I would say. If it was me I would increase my Vitamin diet with a few pills. Am sure u could find out which ones are good for healthy skin on the internet.  8)

I've had rubbish skin since I started vaping full time, but I was always prone to psoriasis and eczema and also I'm getting to "that" age when ladies mellow and night times become unbearably hot and itchy, so I've been putting it down to that; hormonal changes happen to both men and women and at different stages in out lives. Yup I hate to say it even men get osteoporosis from hormonally depleted calcium levels too, its just not talked about as much.

It might be time to see your doc and get a full blood panel done, those meds you mentioned might not be as good for you as they once were and as others have said you might be vitamin deficent, not because your not eating as well, but because your body is changing how you process them, this happened to my dad, his superrenal glands decided to go a bit wonky, not actually life threatening in its own right, but vitamin and mineral deficency can be (which was the side effect) - a change in his meds and diet and he was a different man :D

Also might be worth checking to see if your water company has started adding anything into the supply (or changed the reservoir the supply comes from); I know they trialled fluorinating here a while back until the community kick off about it and got it stopped.

Let us know how you get on

Ohhh and P.S. I just noticed you say you wash your hair every other day, if you have sensitive and dry skin over washing can cause problems too, and believe it or not zits can be a side effect of over dry skin as the pores work over time to produce more sebum (skin oil) to try and rehydrate the skin. Have a look at getting some pharaceutical Castor Oil and "no water" cleansing once a week, which basically means coating your skin and hair in the oil and letting it sit for a while to soak in, then washing it out with ph neutral soap.

Oddly enough, after I quit cigs and went full-time with vaping (36mg) in 2010, I also started getting zits all over head, face as well as beard and scalp. And still am to this day. I never had any issue with them before. I have always wondered if there was a cause and effect to that.

I have not changed my vaping habits, though I do notice that an increase in soda consumption to have at least a peripheral effect on it. (not to mention that there is the long running theory that a lot of soda consumption can aid in breakouts)

It would be interesting to see if I could quit vaping for say, two weeks and see if that has a noticeable effect,

Actually I know that I have read somewhere that men do have a second puberty when becoming of a older age.
Hair is starting to grow on funny places like eyebrows, there are some hormone changes , skin problems..
I guess that it is not a puberty, just called like that because of some of the symptoms..  :D

Spent £1323.89
Vaping make people friendly and tolerant, let´s spread the word to gain world peace :D

Thanks to all of you for your help.  I've noticed my hair seems to get alot oiler since using all VG--could be my imagination.  Maybe it's this hot Florida sun I live in!!
I don't plan on stopping the vaping--maybe shave my head and get a hairpiece!!!!
Thanks again for your help,
Lou
