Titan Tank to Odyssey
« on: May 04, 2013, 02:08:52 PM »
First off, Hello all. I have been an off and on again user of my Titan 510 tank for a couple years now, but haven't used it since my relationship ended with my ex about 8 months ago. I am still a regular smoker but am at the very least trying to cut down. I have always enjoyed my Titan in areas where I cannot smoke, but have also been using swedish snus at work for more discrete nicotine.

About two months ago, at the age of 27, I was diagnosed with ADHD. Apparently I have been unawarely self medicating for years through massive amounts of caffeine and nicotine. Now that I am getting proper treatment I decided to reflect on changes I need to make in my life, the first being, stop smoking.

I went and dug out my trusty Titan and my liquids that are not expired only to find that the ex took custody of more than half my gear. Luckily I still have about 4 batteries and 3 atomizers that still work. This led me to thinking it might be time to upgrade and begin relying on the ecig more. The next day Totally Wicked sends me an email saying the Odyssey is on Yoyo.

After watching the videos and lurking here in the forum, I couldn't resist and jumped on one when the yoyo hit 22%. I must say, I would have probably gone with a much different device and probably from a local supplier if it had not been for this forum. As I was lurking I couldn't help but notice that Liam is absolutely dedicated to making this the best PV on the market and seeing him go over every success and failure with passion and pride pushed me to this purchase.

I hope that I will have a great experience and am shaking with anticipation already even though it will be at least a week before it arrives.

Why I am posting here and not in the new user section is that I would love some advice on the transition from my Titan Tank to the Odyssey. All of my experience is 100% 510 tank related.

Any tips tricks warning signs major differences would be much appreciated.

Welcome Mr Bacon :) my only advice is to be patient and bottle up that excitement when you first receive it!

Priming the Boge cartos is key to getting a great first vape from the Oddy IMO, there's loads of tips and tricks on the forum but I personally cover the base of the carto and lightly blow down the top to force the liquid in to the wick, always making sure the liquid doesn't go into the core/centre of the carto. When the liquid begins to ooze from the 2 intake holes I stand it vertically and let it sit for 30-60mins before popping it in the tank and filling up.

I was hasty when I received it and chargrilled my first 2 carto's wicks, which meant my first impression of the Oddy was that its more hassle than its worth... Definitely not the case when time is taken to do it properly!

Hopefully it arrives with you soon  ;D

Oh and 1more thing! If your drags make a bubbling sound rather than a crackle/pop, make sure to watch Liam's great Oddy user guide on how the fix a flooded carto, it's minimal effort and works brilliantly

It was posted... cant remember where now... Either Astrecks or Liam posted it when
they first made the video. I'll see if I can find the original post and sticky it.

Modified to add....
Its already a sticky... Top of the Odyssey board! lol

Well. I switched from the Titan tank to odyssey about 8 months ago.
Had the usual complaints seen here often.
Ended up with a second odyssey (basically out of extra parts)
Sorting the issues with my 1st.

I've finally gotten them both "working" .  IMHO
The Titan tank is a much better working e-cig!

I'm partial to dual coil atomizers,  so the vapor produced by the odyssey
Is weak in comparison!   Also the odyssey takes more maintenance by far!
I'm occasionally having problems with battery contact, and now I'm finding the new bogey
Atomizers some are VERY difficult to thread (takes pliers)

I've been vaping over 5 years, and I know what I'm doing,  unfortunately
I will be switching back to my Titan dual coil tank soon.  It always performed flawlessly, with NO
Issues.....  If TW ever solves the issues with the Oddy DCC's I would be willing to try it again, but I'm not
Holding my breath (or counting on it)

Just my $ 0.02
