Newbie...help needed please!
« on: November 02, 2012, 04:44:23 PM »
Hi there,

I've just bought a tornado tank with Titan juice 18mg which I tried at an outlet which, I have to be honest, got a really nice hit from.

I got the kit home and had a good look, but what's really worrying me is the image of a skull and crossbones on the bottle of e juice and a warning that inhaling this stuff is toxic. Since then I'm really confused about continuing with vaping. I wonder just how dangerous this stuff is and fret about it getting on my hands and in my mouth.

I'm not normally that much of a fretter, it's just that I have an 18 month old son and notwithstanding the fact that I intended to vape outside anyway, I'm just concerned about having this stuff in the house.

So much so that I'm even considering trying to sell this kit I've bought on this forum.

Can anyone help me here ?

Many thanks in advance, Gav

And those pictures and warnings on analogues?........... need I say more.

I will let someone from TW give the official reasons for the warnings on the bottle.

Hi gavgnr, welcome to the forum.

As you may or may not know, nicotine is a poison, even at a low level concentrate
like in nicotine juice. The skull and crossbones has to be there to warn that a poison
is included inside the bottle.

If you were to pour the e-liquid over your skin, you may get a headache, feel nauseous,
light headed etc, but you're not going to do this, you're going to vape it.
As for your child, you are of course not going to let him near it, play with the bottle etc,
anymore than you would let him near a bottle of bleach.  Thats why these bottles have
safety caps on them. Just keep your liquid out of reach, in a high cupboard, or even lock
it away if you feel the need. It's just safety measures that should be followed.

Now, if you get liquid on your skin, wash it off with water, it really is that simple.
I've had e-liquid on my skin and in my mouth before, and it really isn't anything to panic
over.

And just as Chunky said, inhaling cigarette smoke is toxic too ;)

Don't sell your kit, we all panic a little when we first start vaping, but there really isn't anything
to worry about :)

Thanks for the replies...silly fears I know

I really want to give vaping a go as all the reviews and videos I watch speak very highly of totally wicked products.

Is it possible to buy pre-filled carts ?

TW used to do pre-filled carts, don't think they do them now though,
but if you head on over to TECC which is TW's sister company, it looks like
they still sell the prefilled carts. You will find it more expensive than filling the
carts yourself though :(
You should give it a try, once you get used to doing it, you'll be doing it with your
eyes closed ;)

Just in case you still want pre-filled, heres the link:

Yep, I was the same when I started vaping, pre filled carts seemed the way forward. Now 7 months in and now just buy the pre mixed liquid and fill the empty carts, simples.......

Have not started mixing yet though as I think the wife might think I am turning into a mad scientist!!

Totally Wicked comply with the directions of the Trading Standards Institute who say that nicotine products must be CHIP compliant.

‘CHIP’ refers to the Chemicals (Hazard Information and packaging for Supply) Regulations 2009.

"CHIP implements two European Directives: the Dangerous Substances Directive (No 67/548/EEC) and the Dangerous Preparations Directive (No 1999/45/EC). The Directives, and CHIP, require all chemical suppliers to identify any inherent hazards that may be present in the chemical they wish to supply and communicate those hazards via a hazard label using approved symbols, risk phrases and safety phrases. These will allow suppliers and users to know a chemical’s potential harm and how to protect against it."

Nicotine is a poison, and due care is required when storing such liquid, and should be stored safely away from children and animals.

Hiya gavgnr, welcome to the forum. Suggesting flavours is always tricky as we are all different and have different tastes, what I find the best juice ever you may think is absolute rubbish that tastes like rotten socks  ;D If you head down into the E-Liquid Discussions section of the forum the Flavour Discussions section has many polls on favourites and reviews etc, there is also the 'Official Taste Panel' review section which should give you an idea of how different flavours compare.
Happy vaping.

Taste is very subjective, and what one person likes another may hate.
Personally I love the Titan menthol, apple, and strawberry.
And from the GS range I like the chocolate and buttermint mixed
together, also the peach schnapps, and sex on the beach.

It depends what sort of flavours you think you may enjoy, have a look through
them all, read the descriptions and see what you think. you can also take a look
on here: http://forum.totallywicked-eliquid.com/forum-members-own-reviews-on-the-twdv-range/
where forum members have reviewed some of the different flavours themselves :)

LOL Stevie beat me to it ;)

Red bull is the one I keep going back to ,its not a strong taste especially with continued use but I find it a good vape ,I switch between flavours but some flavours get a bit much over time , and by doing this the taste of red bull when I switch back comes back nicely again
