City & County of Swansea here, but West Glamorgan as was (not sure what happened to the rest of West Glam after Swansea got hived off around about the millenium - perhaps it just doesn't exist any more
EDIT: it appears there's now a County Borough of Neath-Port Talbot, Cardiff is also a "city and county" unitary authority, and the inelegantly named borough of Rhondda-Cynon-Taff hoovered up the remaining unclaimed bogs, pastures, and no few livestock. How is splitting one coherent county into 4 fragmentary new "bodies" an improvement in efficiency? That's anyone's guess
Politicians? Just say "no"!
Afraid none of us exist anymore Nick, Welsh politicians are as bad as their english counterparts.
Cardiff is all they see, the rest of us are all outsiders.
When Wales got a Capital city in the 50s, Swansea wanted it, Cardiff said no but it went to Cardiff anyway.
With the national assembly more recently same thing, Swansea said yes, Cardiff said no but it went to Cardiff.
Democracy in action, they give you the vote then tell you what their going to do anyway
