How do you fill the Clearomizer Ultimates
« on: November 18, 2011, 08:36:44 PM »
I used to use the CE2 and CE3 attys.  I got the clearomizer ultimate and it doesn't have the filling tube with a plug that I am used to.  I have been wedging the needle between the plastic outer cover and the inner rings and filling it that way.  I'm not sure if this is the right way.  Anyone have an easier way?  This method seems to only fill one side at a time.  Are the inner rings removable?  I am afraid to take them out because they don't move easily.
Thanks!

theres lil slots in the ring along the outter tube to put the needle in but it should fill the whole thing - look on TW you tube for videos or on the product page

Hi Chip, here's the link with the filling tutorial video from the TW website...
http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/clearo-carto-mizers/clearomizers/510-ce2-clearomiser-5-pack-24-26-26-28-product.html

Those little slots for inserting the needle are hard to spot, but if you gently run the blunt needle around the inside of the casing, you'll be able to feel them.... one on each side. Fill slowly to avoid leaking from the battery end.
I did exactly what you described on my first one... the leaflet in the packet is not helpful
but it's easy once you've seen it done  ;)

Haha that reminds me when I first bought the ultimates and when I received them in the mail I was sitting there trying to fill it...I took off the platic cap on top and I was trying to take off the little rubber ring inside and it just would nt budge like wth ( I had also watched the xl clearomizers video which you have to do that with) so anyways here I am with my little tool(paperclip) wresting with the ring and finally it pops off and I look inside and it doesn't look like what it was suppose to in the video...and then realized I broke the damn thing. I went back on TW and watched the video and the xl video and figured out thatbi had mixed the two up... It was just so funny to me... Like duhh  :o

Is there anything you need to do before the first fill like you have to blow out the primer on the attys?

The Ultimate's don't have a priming fluid in them. when you fill them make sure you have one of the holes at the top.

Great pictures Jeff. One thing though is that the new CE2 Ultimates don't have the second 'O' ring in them so there's nothing to put back after you've finished filling

Oops, yes didn't realise the Ultimate's were "without"  O-ring  :-\

How long do these take to break in?

Tried two with different flavours and both just taste of burnt plastic.

They shouldn't take any time at all to break in. However, if you're using them with thicker juice (basically anything containing PG at all!) then they can be a bit problematic with the wicking. What I do if they're not wicking properly is lift the inner seal up slightly (by about 1/2mm or so) to give more space for the juice to wick up. I use a dental pick and gently lift the seal up, but you can probably use a bent paperclip, etc to do the same

also I find it best to prime them with one drop out of the syringe right into the large center hole onto the wick. That gets it going a lot faster. I love these things but my new loves our the ce3's.

Is the thick white part in the pictures now black? I just got my xl ultimates and they are exactly like the smaller ones, but now there's a smaller black ring that's easy to take out..

The problem that I had with the small ones is that once i put the needle in and fill it.. the juice wants to come back out the hole. Maybe I'm using too big of a guage of needle? I also tried with the one that comes with it and after the second filling it seems like there's a perma hole down the gasket

UGH!

The photo's are of one of the earlier CE2's the specifications change from time to time so the "white" part is now black, but filling them remains principally the same. You need to fill it in such a way as to let the air escape from the second hole as the eliquid is injected into first hole, holding it horizontally as in the photo will achieve this, but holding it vertically is OK too, the filling needle that comes with them should be the correct size, although the hole is tiny and if your eyesight is anything like mine then you could quite easily miss the hole and create a new one  :o

Naw I find the holes just fine, but the needle isn't quite long enough so when it finally does go through the blue part of the needle is RIGHT at the edge so you gotta pull a bit towards the middle to get it to go in that 1 mm further and then it pulls the black silicone gasket back a bit and you end up with a perma hole!

Anyone know the guage of the needle? I can pick up thin guage from my local farm store and snip the end so it's blunt

It ends up perma hole then the first couple vapes I hear gurgling and it all tries to come back up through the larger hole :( .. No matter how full I do it

Have you tried to blow through your mouth piece (without pressing your button)to make all the juice go back down to your clearomizer?

No, I am pretty happy with the carto's that I bought so haven't really messed with it too much. The bigger ones seem to be made better with the secondary removable gasket that you put back. It seems to stop the liquid from escaping the holes. The smaller ones are kinda junk.

I'm getting the hang of them but they're for at home use only, cause they're impossible to fill out and about. I need to be able to refill in my car because I deliver pizzas. I was wishing that the needle was longer, because it barely pushes through the gasket before you reach the end of the needle and have to push further and it seems like the thicker part (the part on the syringe) is pulling the gasket away to get the needle into the crevace.

If I am reading your message correctly? Is V.G liquid in the clearomiser bad for the wick then? Diluted or not? Because I'am getting a slight burnt taste aswell and I am using 26% A.G and 16% V.G Nicotine base ???

I use 50/50 in my clearo's with no problem as long as its cut right with distilled water. There also is definitely a little bit of a break in period in which the wicks should be kept nice and wet.

Thanks mate! That's reassuring!  ;)I thought I'd had to change my recipies :o I just got my Sweetness point with my A.G, but seem to still have a cleaner taste on the micro cartridges, which I use to sample different flavours, then less waste 8)

Whats your thought on Clearomizers or Smokymizers, whats best for taste?  Thinking of getting a Smokeymizer? ::)

Smokeys vape nice and cool with good vapor.
Clearo's have a hotter vape and also have good vapor.
I prefer the clearo's. Remember to keep your juice thin enough. ;)

I probably prefer a hot vape to a cool one, because Ive just giving up roll ups, but you never know till I try? ;)

Regarding the burnt taste? I think it was a previous flavour I had in it, French Pipe, Very pungent, not sure I'll be able to get rid of it? :P These Clearomizers are all sealed? ::)

The CE4 is very easy to fill.

1. Remove mouthpiece.
2. Remove little white cone that sits directly below mouthpiece
3 Fill up to just below black line.
4 Replace little white cone ensuring that it is level
5.Replace mouthpiece
6 Enjoy.
