Vaping around children?
« on: August 31, 2013, 05:56:25 PM »
I was wondering what TWs stance is on vaping around children. I just recently switched from smoking to vaping and never smoked around my son. Is it safe to vape around him?

Thanks,
Kevin

We don't have a stance, we are neither a medical or a pharmaceutical company, and therefore make no claims they are 100% safe, we sell electronic cigarettes as an alternative to tobacco cigarettes and whilst tobacco cigarettes remain legally available we intend to provide an alternative that satisfies the cravings and rituals associated with traditional cigarettes  and it would be a matter for your own conscience whether you used them in front of your child or not.

Many experts believe there is negligible effect on the user and bystanders when compared to tobacco smoke as there is no burning nor production of tar, but electronic cigarettes have not been available for long enough to determine the long term effects of vaping.

Despite the millions of pounds/dollars of funds available to the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries they have failed in the 5 years that electronic cigarettes have been widely available to show any credible evidence that electronic cigarettes are harmful to anywhere near the same degree as tobacco products, but this does not mean they are completely safe.

Totally Wicked makes no claims that the electronic cigarette will cure a smoker's addiction to nicotine; the electronic cigarettes we sell serve the same purpose as a tobacco cigarette - they deliver its user nicotine. If you do suffer from the disease of Tobacco/Nicotine Dependence Syndrome and want to take steps to give up smoking or cut down the quantity of cigarettes you currently smoke, we recommend you visit your health care provider to discuss NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) or a nicotine harm reduction programme.

Please Note: We are not a pharmaceutical company and we do not produce medical products.
Happy Vaping!!!  Jeff

I am no expert, neither am I affiliated with TW in any way. I do, however, have a very-nearly-eight-year-old son who I never smoked around, but who I happily vape in the same room as. I believe in this product, and I believe it is safe. My son tells me I smell nicer these days, too. ;)

My wife says the same thing.

Same here...not sure about other places around the world but in California it is illegal to smoke in a car with another person under the age of 18.  It's crazy I know, but nevertheless I would still abide by it.

I picked up a cheapie ecig some time ago to remedy the problem of wanting to smoke in my car but having my 6 year old son with me.  I can definitely say that cigarette smoke tends to stick to the upholstery and is pretty yucky when it comes to cleaning the windows.  I've got to believe that stuff affects other people who get in my car as well.  With vapor, I don't see the film on the windows and I can't smell it in my upholstery.  These are the facts I have found from my personal experience, this may not be true for others.

I've heard about that law in Cali and also heard that's its ilegal to smoke with children in your own house. Not that they could actually catch you but that is crazy. Smart because children usually have no say and need to be stood up for. I would never force a child to breathe my second hand smoke. I hope that's not just me but since I vape now I'm not as paranoid about harmful side effects as much and feel my son can be in the house while I vape.

This is only my personal feelings and are not the feelings of Toatally Wicked in any way.

I do everything with my iPhone. Odyssey all day baby ;D

Vaping in my house makes a definite difference to my paintwork.....just did the kitchen ceiling again, as it was at a two year point.....could barely see the difference between the old paint and the new.....using brilliant white....that says a lot......when I was smoking you could spot the bits done and the bits waiting for paint in a heartbeat.....so there is no residue of vape siting on my paint unlike the tar and crap from cigerettes....hubby was well chuffed as he didn't have me nagging him that he'd missed a bit!

Vaping in my house makes a definite difference to my paintwork.....

Sounds crazy but that's the reason I switched to vaping, I had my whole house done by a decorating company 2 years ago! ... 18 months later it needed to be done again, (I like all white) .... getting older now and can't do it myself ... had given up trying to give up smoking and when I saw the e-cig it seemed and has proved to be the answer for me  :D

I vape around my grand children, they are older and don't mind at all as it doesn't smell aweful!

My son got in my car and lit up ... ooooow .. the stink!! lol ... makes you realise how we used to smell to non-smokers.

Spent on vaping 1051.74 plus X amount for presents
